Family First

Supporting Families with Young Children in Rural Highland

What happens next?

The Co-ordinator will visit the family to explain the scope of the service and will ask the family to define their current needs.

Families choose to accept or decline the service offered by Family First.

An agreement is reached on how the service is delivered.

This may be by:
  • The volunteer visiting the family at home
  • The family attending group work
The volunteer is matched with the family by the co-ordinator. They will maintain regular contact with the volunteer, the family and the referrer to enable progress to be monitored. The referrer will be informed who the volunteer is, their start date and their expected role.

Family First will endeavour to encourage the family to make the appropriate use of the wider community resources enabling them to grow in confidence.
