Family First

Supporting Families with Young Children in Rural Highland

Family First Groups welcome families with children under 4 years old.


Family First provides opportunities for parents - mums, dads, grandparents and carers - to get together in a group setting to support each other.

Family First may be able to provide transport.

Family First aims to provide a safe and stimulating environment where both parents/carers and children attending will feel comfortable and secure.

The local co-ordinator will provide a venue where parents/carers can meet at least once a week. Refreshments are available.

Adults get the opportunity to support one another and discuss topics that are important to them.

Family First really values the skills parents gain bringing up their own children.


Your experience could benefit another parent.


A crèche with appropriate play equipment can be provided for the children and they are offered a healthy snack to eat.

Childcare can be supported by the Family First volunteers who are parents themselves or have parenting experience.
